Helpful Tips in Cold Season – Asthma and Respiratory Control Plans

October 4, 2022 11:56 am

As we enter cold/influenza season we recommend placing your Asthma Control Plan or Respiratory Control plan in an easily accessible area. If you can’t find your current plan, please access it via our patient portal (desktop version) or message us for an emailed copy.

Please review your plan ahead of time (before your child is sick). Remind yourself of what to use and when. It is important to start Yellow Zone medications at the first sign of respiratory illness. Be aggressive! Be sure to give Yellow Zone medications a minimum of twice daily, up to every 4 hours (if needed). Double check now to be sure all of your child’s medications are filled and not expired (for each Zone of their plan).

If you need Yellow or Red Zone medications, reach out to your pharmacy to request a refill.

As always, please call if you have any other questions or concerns.
