Dr. Ozolins graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. He earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Ozolins completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of California-San Diego, and a fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care at Children's Hospital and Health Center, San Diego.

He is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care.
